In the early 1990’s, a group of childhood
pals brooded over various ways to amuse themselves
with video, and the warm, splotchy Funtime egg was
hatched. At this point, Funtime did not have an
official name, but existed in the collective creative
spirit of its originators. This primary phase pumped
out numerous in-camera-edited movies that involved
bullies and nerds getting punched. As the Funtime
members entered their high school years in the mid-90’s,
they began to make movies under the name, “Poopy
Productions.” This new label marked the secondary
phase of Funtime’s development—a phase
even more prolific than the first. Movies like Wicked—an
inspirational story about BMX racing that involved
impressive dummy usage—really propelled Funtime
to new heights.
