During the summer of ’96, Jeff Ledellaytner
aired a half-hour compilation of “Poopy Productions”
videos on Bethany, Connecticut’s public access
station. He named the show “Funtime,”
and launched the company into its third evolutionary
phase: television. For three summers, the members
of Funtime would create weekly half-hour episodes
to be broadcast to hundreds of homes in the Housatonic
region. The episodes included footage from high
school and newer, more polished sketches created
by George Cox, Frank Aveni, and Ledellaytner during
their respective college experiences. In an effort
to saturate the half-hour time slots, William Garre
stepped-in alongside other Funtime contributors
to make new comedic skits.
